Val’Vael Mithalsyr Elven Spell Filch of the Silverwood Forest ran by Ryan Atherton
An elf born of noble blood and with a gift so eagerly sought by the guild of spell thieves he was recruited at a young age; his parents saw this as a great honour and eagerly obliged the guilds request. The ability to serve his people in such a way filled Val’Vael with a great sense of commitment and honour, such a skilled and invested member was rare even within the guild a great asset of much they were certain.
As Val’Vael grew and his training came to a close he became romantically invested with an elf by the name of Alaya, daughter to the guild master and already a wizard of some renown. The guild master was worried that such a relationship would detract from her studies or maybe worse, she might give them up entirely, his mind raced and he set about trying to save Alaya.
He began to send Val’Vael on missions far from Tringlee in the hopes that the distance would part the two but no such thing occurred, He then tried to dissuade them both with rumours and falsehoods but their bond was too strong.
The Great War had begun and as time passed and the guild master was drawn further into his psyche and he began to consider drastic measures. From his perspective the only way to save Alaya was to kill Val’Vael, He sent him on a suicide mission with the “assistance” of a double agent to ensure his failure.
Failure came quickly and painfully for the young elf as he was tortured and beaten for information until he eventually cracked and told his captors everything, starting with the guild and leading to his betrayal. The very same night a lapse in security gave Val’Vael the chance he needed to escape from their camp and begin his new life.
