Following the success of the show on the day in terms of traders, demo games, bring and buy and attendance, I received this link from Norman Smith an avid gamer and blogger who has attended Phalanx over the years and watched it grow and grow. his review speaks volumes to me about the whole reason we do the show.

About the Author
I was born in 1965, I have been a member of the Club since 1982. I play mainly boardgames and Role Playing games but I also love Ancient and Medieval games. I started gaming when I was old enough to stand an Airfix Soldier up on my parents carpet. I moved up to Model Making kits and eventually found Donald Featherstone wargame rules at the local library, since then my life has always included gaming, be it online or social face to face gaming at the club.

St Helens Spartans

We are a Gaming Club based in St Helens in Merseyside England. We play a range of games including Wargames, Roleplaying Games and Boardgames that cover all periods and rule systems. We meet at 7:30pm till 11:30pm every Wednesday. The Club Runs a well-known and well attended convention each year called Phalanx at Sutton Community Leisure Centre. Our membership is around 30 mature like-minded people, we do not allow under 18s in the club unless accompanied by an adult.
