January 10th 1925. Arkham, Massachusetts. The inaugural Miskatonic Seminar of Occults and Strange Phenomina is taking place and amongst the very lucky few to be invited are; Captain John Arthur Howard (English Great War Veteran), Clinton Baptiste ( Innsmouth psychic), Colorado Kane (American archaeologist), Sebastian Du’Thame (English airman), Aubrey Murray (Scottish noble), Dr. Albert McTavish (Nova Scocian psychologist), Miss Amelia Rivers (English authoress) and Dr. Joseph Lowenstein (German chemist).
Although the above do not know each other they have a common bond – all are friends of an elusive but very much loved Jackson Elias – author and investigator of Death Cults. Jackson has not been seen for a few years yet this is not unusual for his investigations take him around the globe. Jackson Elias is also speaking at the seminar and so our party feel happiness in their hearts that they will, once again, catch up with their dear friend.
