The party started off wandering the lush grasslands of Terrinoth in search of adventure when we happened upon a caravan, burnt and broken with one injured survivor. He told us they had been attacked by pesky Goblins who were trying to sneak into the City unseen.
We rushed to the city only to find our way blocked by two large Ettins, these fearsome creatures looked impressive but fell easily to the well aimed Axe of Grisban the Thirsty.
This session involved us getting to grips with our characters and learning how they can be best employed together. John managed to fall in love with his characters ability to target small groups of enemies clustered together and lay down some shock and awe. Barry was indispensable with his rapid movement and ranged attacks he managed to fend off anyone trying to make a fast exit. Kevin did what dwarven fighters do best; get in close and help them move on to their paradise. As a healer I tried to keep everyone in range and dispense some health points whenever possible.
We fought hard against superior numbers and what seemed on paper to be two formidable foes. However with the right level of co-operation and individual efforts we managed to beat the odds (and a particularly bloody-minded GM, good work Chris but damn your booby traps lol) and make it out of there intact but not without our wounds and carrying all the treasure we could find.
We’ve disposed of what was unnecessary, for a tidy sum. We’ve re-armed ourselves and some of us have learned new skills to bring to the fray. And now we’re ready to face a new challenge…. (tbc)
